Derby County are interested in signing Damian Oko from Zaglebie Lubin in the summer transfer window, according to The Daily Mail.

Oko is a Polish left-sided central defender and is valued at £2 million by his club, who play in the Ekstraklasa in Poland, according to the report.

Promising talent

Oko is a talented and promising young central defender who is only 22 years of age, and he can only get better in the coming years.

Derby need to sign younger players for the future, and the Polish centre-back does fit the bill.

One should not expect Oko to be an instant hit in the Championship in England, but working under Derby manager Frank Lampard will help him improve and develop.

Promotion challenge

Derby finished in the top six of the Championship this season and reached the playoff final, but the Rams lost to Aston Villa in the big game at Wembley Stadium in London last month.

The Rams will be aiming for promotion again in 2019-20, and with a few good signings in the summer transfer window, they will be able to go again.
