Derby County are reportedly set to move for Hull City’s Tom Huddlestone.
According to the Daily Mail, Hull City midfielder Tom Huddlestone would be keen on a return to Derby County, as they prepare a £2million bid.
Huddlestone, 30, was born in Nottingham but came up through the ranks with Derby, making almost 100 appearances for the club before a 2005 move to Tottenham Hotspur.
Hull City’s Tom Huddlestone
After more than 200 appearances for Spurs, Huddlestone joined Hull City in 2013, and he has been a vital player for the Tigers since his arrival, playing more than 150 games for the club.
Now though, Hull’s relegation means that Huddlestone could leave the club, and the Daily Mail claim that Derby are ready to activate the £2million release clause in his Hull contract.
Huddlestone is claimed to be open to joining Derby despite interest from Premier League club Newcastle United, though the Rams may have to dig deep on the wages front.
Derby have already raided Hull to sign defender Curtis Davies this summer, and he could now reunite with Huddlestone at Pride Park if manager Gary Rowett gets his way.

With a superb passing range as well as bags of experience, Huddlestone could be the midfield general that Derby need in order to push for promotion in the upcoming season.
Add in Huddlestone’s history with Derby, and this could be the ideal signing for the Rams – and they will be hoping to fend off Birmingham and Newcastle in the race for his signature.
