Derby County are one of several English sides left frustrated in their attempts to check on Glasgow Rangers forward Michael O’Halloran, the Daily Record reports.
It is claimed the Rams, alongside Championship rivals Huddersfield Town and League One pair Bolton Wanderers and Southend United, had planned to watch O’Halloran in action for Rangers Under-20s against Hearts on Monday.
The 26-year-old, however, failed to show, and is now said to be fighting for his Ibrox future after meeting with manager Pedro Caixinha on Wednesday for ‘showdown talks’.
Caixinha has used O’Halloran in only one of his four games in charge of Rangers so far and a summer move already looked to be on the cards for the £500,000 capture from St Johnstone.
However, it remains to be seen whether or not the likes of Derby will pursue their interest, given O’Halloran’s recent antics.
Derby are known to have scouted a number of Scottish-based talents this season, with previous boss Steve McClaren present at Rangers’ 2-0 defeat at Hearts in November.

Gary Rowett’s side appear destined to spend at least another season at Championship level, despite the new man’s impressive start at Pride Park.
Should Derby give Rangers’ O’Halloran another chance to impress?
