Derby County are leading the race to sign Bristol City defender Aden Flint, The Mirror reports (11 May, page 57).
It is claimed that Derby’s Championship rivals Aston Villa and Premier League West Bromwich Albion are also keen on Flint, who is valued by the Robins at £5 million.
The Sun on Sunday reported the Rams were prepared to match any offer the Villans may make, and manager Gary Rowett is now said to be confident of landing the 27-year-old colossus.

Flint appeared in every single minute of Bristol City’s Championship campaign, which saw them narrowly avoid relegation for the second successive season despite his five goals.
And with both Derby and Aston Villa seemingly intent on promotion next term, a move to either club – not to mention West Brom – will likely appeal to the former non-league centre-back.

The Rams could be of particular interest to Flint, however, who comes from Pinxton, Derbyshire, and played for local sides Matlock Town and Alfreton before moving to Swindon six years ago.
