According to The Scottish Sun, Derby County have entered the race to sign goalkeeper Craig Gordon follow Celtic’s derisory offer.
The 37-year-old shot-stopper is out of contract this summer, meaning he can leave Celtic for free – and there appears to be plenty of interest.
The Scottish Sun claimed earlier this week that Gordon was considering a two-year deal back at former club Hearts, having already turned down St Mirren.
Celtic allegedly offered Gordon a deal to stay put, but it was an 80% cut on his previous £20,000-a-week deal – something Gordon isn’t impressed with at all.
Now, Derby allegedly want to sign Gordon. They see him as their potential number one, with Ben Hamer only on loan from Huddersfield Town.
Gordon is considering offers given that Hearts look set to be in the second tier next season, and that gives Derby a real chance of a deal.

The Scot will want to play having spent most of the season in the wilderness at Celtic, and Derby can offer him that whilst giving him another crack at English football.
Gordon’s 2007 move to Sunderland proved to be a failure due to injuries, and as he nears the end of his career, heading back to English football could be appealing.
