Derby County and Wolverhampton Wanderers have been linked with Fulham’s Richard Stearman.
According to Sky Sports (live transfer thread, July 29th 2016 at 11:33), Derby County and Wolverhampton Wanderers have enquired about the availability of Fulham’s Richard Stearman.
The Fulham defender began his career at Leicester City, coming through the youth ranks with the Foxes before going on to have a seven-year spell at Wolves.
The 28-year-old played in the Premier League, Championship and League One at Molineux and after winning the club’s Player of the Year award in 2014-15 he moved to Fulham.
Stearman’s time at Craven Cottage hasn’t been too successful, with the West London club struggling to make inroads in the Championship last term and finishing in a lower midtable spot.
The report claims that Wolves are keen on taking him back as boss Kenny Jackett looks to bolster his defensive ranks, while Derby are also accredited with making an enquiry after they let Jake Buxton go.
Ryan Shotton has also departed the Rams this summer, therefore there is scope for new boss Nigel Pearson to bring in an extra body as centre-back cover and he will briefly know of Stearman from his time at Leicester.
Pearson became Leicester boss for the first time in June 2008, while Stearman, 28, left the King Power Stadium to join Wolves just a few weeks later.
The 6ft 2inch defender is versatile, strong in the air and comfortable with the ball at his feet.
