According to the Daily Mail, Deportivo La Coruna have rejected Arsenal’s bid for Lucas Perez, deeming the offer as unacceptable in its current form.
The Gunners made a move for the striker earlier this week, with Spanish newspaper El Confidencial reporting that they had made a last-ditch bid to snatch him from under the noses of Everton.
They reported that Arsene Wenger’s side were willing to pay his £17 million release clause to take him to the Emirates in an attempt to end their hunt for a striker.

However, now the Daily Mail reports that the potential deal has been held up after Deportivo deemed their opening offer as unacceptable.
According to them, Arsenal want to pay his release clause in two instalments rather than upfront but the La Liga side want the money in one payment.

It is thought that the striker prefers a move to the Emirates over Everton, principally because they can offer Champions League football.
However, this hold-up in the deal will give Ronald Koeman’s side hope they can steal in and secure the Spaniard ahead of their Premier League rivals.
