The defender will leave Graeme Murty’s Rangers when his contract at Ibrox expires this summer.

David Bates’ wages demands priced the Rangers defender out of a new Ibrox contract, according to the Daily Record.
Bates signed a four-year deal with Hamburg on Thursday, and will leave Rangers when his present deal expires at the end of this season.
The report claims the 21-year-old centre-back, who first arrived at Ibrox two years ago from Raith Rovers, wanted £7,500 per week to stay with Graeme Murty’s team.

But Rangers are said to have point-blank refused his demands, despite Bates’ impressive performances when fit.
As Bates is moving outside of Scotland, the Daily Record reports Rangers will only receive a five-figure compensation pay-out from Hamburg.
The Bundesliga side look certain to be relegated this season, for the first time in their history.

Christian Titz’s team are second from bottom in the standings, seven points adrift of safety with only five games remaining.
