Spurs need to win in order to boost their hopes of reaching the Champions League, and Mourinho’s side were put through their paces on Tuesday.
Football.London note that teenager Dennis Cirkin was again spotted in first-team training, alongside fellow youngster Harvey White.
Cirkin, 18, appears to be highly rated by Mourinho. Back in November, Mourinho was quoted by Football.London as saying that he watched Cirkin and felt he has ‘a lot of quality’, so wants to develop him.
It seems unlikely that the Irishman will start against United on Friday, but he could well be on the bench. With Japhet Tanganga out, Cirkin can offer cover for Ben Davies at left back.
Keeping the teenager around first-team training just days away from the game suggests that Cirkin is really pushing for the matchday squad, and that Mourinho remains a huge fan of the youngster.
