Dejan Lovren reportedly wants to leave Premier League giants Liverpool for Serie A powerhouses AC Milan.

Dejan Lovren’s move to AC Milan could be in doubt with Calciomercato suggesting that Liverpool’s demands might price the Italian giants out of a deal for the Croatian international.

Lovren’s Anfield career appears to be grinding to a halt, five years after he joined the Merseyside giants from (guess who?) Southampton.

And while the 29-year-old has started to win over the supporters who previously regarded him as an accident waiting to happen with some fine performances in the Champions League, Lovren is now clearly fourth choice in Jurgen Klopp’s pecking order.

With Dutch wonderkids Sepp Van der Berg and Ki-Jana Hoever also tipped for big things at Anfield, it seems that Lovren is keen to get out at the right time.

Calciomercato reports that the former Lyon centre-back wants a change of scenery and the chance to play for a European giant like Milan at this stage of his career obviously carries massive appeal, even if the Rossoneri are not the powerhouse they once were.

But with Liverpool demanding around £22.5 million, and Lovren earning around £100,000 a week, the World Cup runner-up could prove to be a little too expensive for a Milan side who were banned from European football next season after breaching Financial Fair Play regulations.

Liverpool might be stuck with Lovren for one more year after all. Though that may not be a bad thing with The Reds looking to compete at home and abroad once again.
