Celtic’s Dedryck Boyata is reportedly set to join Hertha Berlin.

According to The Scottish Sun, Celtic defender Dedryck Boyata is set to pen a huge £40,000-a-week contract with Hertha Berlin.
Boyata, 28, has been a regular for Celtic since signing from Manchester City in 2015, steadily progressing and improving having struggled early on under Ronny Deila.
Boyata was a key part of Brendan Rodgers’ successful side, and then featured for Belgium at the World Cup last summer, before attempting to get away from Celtic in the final year of his contract.
That didn’t happen, with Celtic refusing to sell, and with Boyata similarly reluctant to sign a new deal, he’s all set to leave as a free agent come the end of the season.
He can though sign a pre-contract agreement, and The Scottish Sun claim that is exactly what the centre back will do, signing a huge £40,000-a-week contract with German side Hertha Berlin.

That’s a massive increase on his Celtic wages, whilst it’s even claimed that Hertha offered Celtic £4.5million for the defender last summer, which the Bhoys rejected – and now, Hertha will sign him for free, leaving Celtic to think about that lost £4.5million.
Truth be told, Boyata was worth more than that at the time, and Celtic were right to reject the bid, but seeing him join the same club for absolutely nothing may sting a little.
