Brazilian site UOL report that Deco has travelled to Barcelona to discuss a move to the Nou Camp for Leeds star Raphinha. A deal until 2027 is on the table, and Deco – Raphinha’s agent – is in talks on Monday, and Tuesday.
Raphinha, 25, notched his fourth assist of the season on Saturday afternoon when he managed to get to the byline and swing a right-footed cross into the Southampton box – which saw Jack Harrison prod the ball home.
It was his 28th goal involvement in the Premier League since joining Leeds – 15 goals, 13 assists. It has attracted Barcelona and Deco has travelled to meet his old side in order to thrash out a deal for his Leeds client.
Talks took place yesterday, and will continue to do so today. A five-year deal is expected, though no formal offer has reached Leeds. The Whites are said to have warned Barcelona that they will not go beneath £40million.
Deco meets Barcelona: Leeds star Raphinha edging closer to exit
It has become more of when, not an if. Raphinha looks set to leave Leeds and Whites fans knew this day would come as soon as he began to shine in the Premier League. He has everything a big club would want.
Flair, goals, assists, work rate, speed – and now he is a Brazil international with three goals in his seven caps. A move to Barcelona looks most likely, even if he might struggle to start – but he would replace Ousmane Dembele.
