Aston Villa are reportedly set to sign Tyrone Mings.

According to the Birmingham Mail, Aston Villa boss Dean Smith intends to play imminent signing Tyrone Mings at centre back – not left back.
Villa have so far completed two signings this summer, landing Lovre Kalinic and defender Kortney Hause, but they should be busy on deadline day.
Fans have been desperate to see a left back arrive at Villa Park, given that Welshman Neil Taylor continues to struggle even under new management.
Some fans had hoped that Bournemouth’s Mings would solve the issue, with the Birmingham Mail claiming that he has agreed a loan move to Villa Park and is undergoing his medical today.
Villa are paying £1million to take Mings on loan until the end of the season, when he could sign permanently, but he seemingly won’t be playing at left back after all.
It’s stated that Smith wants to play Mings as a left-sided centre back, which will leave fans wondering whether a natural left back will be coming in.

Hause is much like Mings in the sense that he can play centre back and left back, so his future with Villa may be as a full back if Villa don’t dip into the market again.
Mings, 25, did start out as a left back with Ipswich Town, but his huge 6ft 5in frame means he has converted to play as a centre back in recent times, and may stay there at Villa.
