Aston Villa boss Dean Smith is keen on Bournemouth defender Tyrone Mings.

Villa have made two signings so far in January with Lovre Kalinic and Kortney Hause both arriving at Villa Park.
The claret and blues are still intending to do business though, and Smith is confident of a positive outcome.
Villa want a new defender and a midfielder in the coming days to ensure they have the quality to push for a top six spot.
Bournemouth defender Tyrone Mings is said to remain on Villa’s radar, and Smith is hopeful that his side will win the race to snap him up.

Villa could also look across Europe for potential additions, like with Kalinic, with sporting director Jesus Pitarch currently said to be on a scouting mission abroad.
Villa are currently in 13th place in the Championship table, and there is a realisation that money will need to be spent if they are to catch up with the play off chasing pack.
