Everton’s Davy Klaassen could snub a deadline-day move and fight for his future on Merseyside.

This morning, it looked pretty probable that Davy Klaassen would be leaving Everton.
The Netherlands midfielder has been a bit of a flop since a £23 million summer move to the Toffees.
Sky journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claimed on his website earlier today that the former Ajax man had agreed a deal to leave Everton for Napoli.

But, according to The Daily Mail’s Live Transfer Blog (entry at 13:53), the 24-year-old could wind up staying at Everton and fighting for a first-team place under Sam Allardyce.
It appears as if Klaassen – also the subject of interest from Lazio – could stay on Merseyside a little longer in a development which could hinder Allardyce’s ability to sign another midfielder today.

Still, the Dutch ace has a lot of improving to do because, frankly, he is nowhere near to meeting expectations, but his decision to stay, if true, is an admirable one if it’s linked with a desire to prove himself.
