Inter Milan full back Davide Santon is reportedly interested in re-joining Newcastle.

According to Tutto Mercato Web, Inter Milan’s Davide Santon is looking for a new club – and his agent has made contact with Rafael Benitez over a stunning return to Newcastle United.
Santon, 26, saw a proposed move to Sunderland fall through last summer (Guardian), and he has been limited to just 13 appearances for Inter Milan this season.
Once touted as the next great Italian defender, Santon’s career is fading into obscurity, with a summer move desperately needed for a full back who hasn’t lived up to his potential.
Now, Tutto Mercato Web report that Santon is looking for a new club ahead of the summer transfer window, and his agent has in fact spoken to Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez about a summer move back to Tyneside.

In 2011, Newcastle swooped to sign Santon in a surprise deal, with the full back – who can play on the left or right side of defence – making close to 100 appearances in an injury-hit spell in the North East.
Santon returned to Inter in January 2015, initially penning a loan deal until the end of the season before making the move permanent, but that move hasn’t paid dividends.

A summer move is looking likely, and it’s stated that a Premier League return is his priority, with recently-promoted Newcastle specifically targeted having spent almost four years at St. James’ Park.
Manager Rafael Benitez managed Santon at Inter for a brief spell in 2010, and a reunion could be on the cards, with Santon’s versatility potentially appealing to Newcastle given that Jesus Gamez and Achraf Lazaar have barely featured since signing, whilst Vurnon Anita is out of contract this summer.
