Southampton and Sunderland are set to miss out on Motherwell’s David Turnbull.

According to The Scottish Sun, Motherwell ace David Turnbull will sign a new deal with the club, snubbing Southampton and Sunderland in the process.
Turnbull, 19, is a local lad who has come up through the Motherwell ranks, and is now in his 10th year on the books at Fir Park.
The midfielder is now a first-team player for Motherwell, and has notched five goals in 16 appearances this season, emerging as one of Scottish football’s top young talents.
Turnbull has unsurprisingly attracted interest, but The Scottish Sun claim that he is set to snub a host of clubs to sign a new deal with Motherwell.
It’s claimed that Premier League side Southampton, Championship club Swansea City and even League One Sunderland have all registered an interest in signing Turnbull.
However, he isn’t interested in any of them, and will stay at Fir Park for years to come because of the guaranteed first-team football on offer.

Motherwell allegedly had fears that Turnbull – out of contract in the summer – would sign a pre-contract agreement with a club in England and move on for next to nothing.
Those fears can be put to rest for now, but Southampton, Sunderland and Swansea would be wise to keep the promising teenager on their radar for future transfer windows.
