Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is being linked with Leicester City.
According to the Daily Mail, David Moyes would be interested in becoming Celtic manager if Brendan Rodgers moves on to Leicester City.
Leicester sacked boss Claude Puel on Sunday after a thumping 4-1 home defeat to Crystal Palace on Saturday evening.
An interim boss until the end of the season is likely, but the main name in the frame as Puel’s permanent replacement is Celtic’s Rodgers.
Rodgers could clinch a third straight domestic treble in Scotland this season, meaning he’ll have achieved pretty much all he can at Parkhead unless he stays for 10 in a row, with European progress evading him.
A return to England has been touted for some time now, and Leicester could throw money at the Northern Irishman in an attempt to lure him back to the Premier League.
That would leave Celtic with a tough task in replacing Rodgers, and the Daily Mail claim that Moyes is an early contender as he would be interested in the Parkhead job.
Moyes, 55, has been out of management since leaving West Ham United at the end of last season, but seemingly feels that a return to Celtic would be an ideal comeback move.
Moyes made 24 appearances for Celtic as a defender in his playing days, but whether his style of play – usually very reserved and solid rather than entertaining – would be a good follow-on from Rodgers is another matter.
It’s also very early for anyone to be eyeing the job, as Rodgers may not even go yet, and Celtic will hope that they don’t even have to consider Moyes or anybody else this summer.
