Gibson has been without a club since leaving Sunderland in March.

Darron Gibson is training with Wigan Athletic after his release by Sunderland, according to the Sun.
Gibson had his Sunderland contract terminated by mutual consent in March, following the culmination of a two-week suspension imposed by the Wearside club.
But the Sun claims the former Republic of Ireland international has since been handed a lifeline by newly promoted Wigan, whose manager, Paul Cook, he is impressing.

And the newspaper adds that Gibson will be given an extended period in which to prove his fitness.
A former Manchester United and Everton player, Gibson spent more than a decade in the north west before signing for Sunderland – who Wigan have replaced ahead of the coming Championship season – 18 months ago.
The Derry-born player is one of several big names culled by Sunderland in recent months, along with long serving trio John O’Shea, Billy Jones and Jack Rodwell.
Would the former Sunderland midfielder be a good addition for Wigan Athletic?
