West Brom want to go into the new campaign with a much changed strike force, with Salomon Rondon set to depart for Newcastle United in the near future.
Darren Moore’s side want to bring in Gayle in a swap deal for Rondon, and they also have eyes on Nmecha.
The youngster has impressed for Manchester City’s youth team, and Moore is keen to hand him regular football at the Hawthorns.

West Brom also want to retain Jay Rodriguez, and have the three forwards lining up together.
Rodriguez could be one of the most prolific strikers in the Championship, and West Brom are determined to fend off offers for the former England international.
West Brom begin their season at the weekend with a match against Bolton Wanderers, and their new look strike force could be in place by then.
