Tottenham Hotspur’s Danny Rose could be on the move to Marseille.
According to The Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose is wanted by French side Marseille ahead of the European transfer deadline on Friday.
Spurs may have failed to bring in any new signings over the summer, but they are surprisingly willing to let first-team veterans leave the club this week.
Fernando Llorente and Georges-Kevin Nkoudou continue to be linked with exits, whilst there are questions about the future of Mousa Dembele, Moussa Sissoko and Toby Alderweireld.
One player thoroughly expected to leave the club is Danny Rose, with the left back completely out of favour under Pochettino in a surprise downturn for the 28-year-old.
The England international was a key player in the first two and a half years of Mauricio Pochettino’s reign, but he missed nine months of 2017 through injury and also criticised the club’s transfer policy, leading to Ben Davies becoming first-choice instead.
Rose didn’t move on to another English club, but The Mirror report that Marseille are now keen to rival Paris Saint-Germain for Rose’s signature ahead of Friday’s transfer deadline around Europe.
It’s stated that Pochettino is willing to let Rose go by any means, whether it’s permanently or on loan with a view to a permanent move, with Marseille now offering Rose another potential escape route.
Should he make the move to Marseille, Rose would be competing with ex-Aston Villa left back Jordan Amavi, who has suffered a dip in form in France, meaning Rose could be in line for major playing time.
