Sky Sports News’ Transfer Blog [24/08/2018, 08:02] has reported that Danny Rose is set to remain at Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

The 28-year-old has been linked with a move away from North London, amid speculation about Schalke and Paris Saint-Germain being interested.

The Mirror claimed this morning that the big-spending French outfit were close to signing the Tottenham left-back before next week’s deadline.

But Sky Sports now reckons that Rose is “increasingly likely” to stay at Spurs after reporting that Filipe Luis was PSG’s top priority as far as left-backs go.

Bad news for Walker-Peters?

Earlier this week, The Evening Standard claimed that Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino was happy to use Ben Davies and Kyle Walker-Peters as his left-back options this season.

And if Rose stays, it could scupper Walker-Peters’s chances of a proper breakthrough season in North London.

The 21-year-old, who earns £20,000 per week at the club [Spotrac], would play a lot more often if he was only competing with Davies for the left-back role, but it looks like he’ll remain as the third-choice option.
