According to The Telegraph, Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose has asked to return to first-team training following Jose Mourinho’s exit.

Spurs stunned the world today as they announced Mourinho’s sacking, mere hours after Tottenham had confirmed that they’re going to be part of the new Super League.

Sure, results had been poor under Mourinho, but nobody expected Tottenham to pull the trigger mere days before the Carabao Cup final.

This is a fresh start for some Spurs players, and Rose seemingly wants to get back involved with the first team following Mourinho’s exit.

It’s claimed that Rose has asked to return to first-team training mere hours after Mourinho’s exit was confirmed, seemingly believing this could be his time for a recall.

Rose was completely frozen out under Mourinho, and has been training with the Under-23’s. He wouldn’t be eligible for Premier League action, but could at least feature in the Carabao Cup final this weekend.

Rose hasn’t played at all this season, so throwing him into a cup final would be bold, but Ben Davies is injured and Sergio Reguilon has looked shaky defensively of late.

The 30-year-old’s row with Mourinho on the All Or Nothing Amazon Prime documentary will live long in the memory, and the long-serving Tottenham man now wants to rejoin first-team training – possibly with an eye on earning a new deal or getting himself ready to move on, with his contract ending this summer.
