Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy now reportedly wants to bring AS Roma General Manager, Tiago Pinto, to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The Telegraph have reported that Tottenham chairman Levy is looking for a new sporting director.

One of the candidates is Roma’s Pinto.

In November 2020, Roma appointed Pinto as the General Manager of Roma.

Highly rated

Roma president Dan Friedkin described him as “a world class talent”.

The Italian club’s official website described Pinto as “one of European football’s most accomplished operators”

Pinto was working as Director of Professional Football before taking up his role at Roma, where he is now the boss of head coach Jose Mourinho.

Mourinho, as well know, is a former Tottenham head coach who got sacked by Levy just days before the Carabao Cup final.

The Telegraph have claimed that Pinto is keen on working in England and “would most likely welcome an approach” from Tottenham.

The report has added that Pinto is “being taken seriously” by Levy.

Contrasting seasons

While Tottenham Hotspur are not having a great season, AS Roma are doing well at the moment.

Spurs are sixth in the Premier League table at the moment with 57 points from 35 matches.

The North London club are six points behind fourth-placed Manchester United, who have played 34 games.

Roma are seventh in Serie A now with 58 points from 34 games, five points behind fourth-placed Inter Milan.

Mourinho’s side have also reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Europa League.
