According to The Telegraph, Daniel Levy has firmed up his stance on Harry Kane leaving Tottenham Hotspur for Manchester City.
The Premier League fixture list came out today, and it just had to be didn’t it? Tottenham have been paired up with City on the opening weekend of the season.
Tottenham host the Premier League champions in North London, potentially against the backdrop of rumours about Harry Kane’s future.
Levy’s new stance on Kane amid Tottenham v Manchester City
It’s now stated that sources inside Tottenham suggest that chairman Levy will not let Kane join Pep Guardiola’s men before that Tottenham v Manchester City clash.
There is allegedly ‘no chance’ that Kane will be allowed to leave and then line up against Spurs in his Premier League debut for City, with Levy not willing to take the risk of fans coming back into stadiums and seeing their hero play against them.
Levy is believed to be seeking £150million for Kane, but if City want to sign him, it seems like they will have to wait until they’ve got their opening game out of the way.
How does Kane feel about Manchester City?
The Times claimed last month that Kane has decided that he wants to play for Pep Guardiola at City.
They will need to raise funds to pull off such a move, but with Sergio Aguero now gone, City need a striker – and Kane fits the bill.
Tottenham v Manchester City on the opening day was always going to throw up Kane discussions, but it appears that his only chance of playing in that game is if he’s still with Tottenham.
