Winger Daniel Candeias is reportedly open to joining Rangers.

According to the Daily Mail, Benfica winger Daniel Candeias is open to reuniting with Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha this summer – but Alanyaspor do still have the option to purchase him.
Rangers look set to make their first signings of the summer in Cagliari defender Bruno Alves and Aberdeen midfielder Ryan Jack, as reported by the Daily Record, but manager Caixinha still has plenty of work to do.

With question marks over the futures of Barrie McKay and Michael O’Halloran, another winger should be on Caixinha’s wish list, and it seems that he is going back to target a player he has previously worked with.
The Daily Mail report that Rangers want Benfica wide man Daniel Candeias – and the player himself is open to reuniting with Caixinha having worked with him at Nacional in their native Portugal.

Candeias, 29, enjoyed the best spell of his career with Nacional, scoring 13 goals in 85 games for the club to earn a 2014 move to Benfica, but he has spent his entire time out on loan since joining, having been farmed out to Nurnberg, Granada, Metz and Alanyaspor.
A former Portugal youth international, Candeias is struggling to find a home, and a reunion with Caixinha could be ideal, and whilst he won’t bring blistering pace to the Rangers attack, he does have quality on the ball.

Whilst Candeias is open to joining Rangers, it’s noted that Alanyaspor have until this evening to activate a permanent deal, and after four goals and four assists in 28 games, the Turkish club could yet pursue Candeias’ signature.
Candeias will be surplus to requirements at Benfica come June 1st should Alanyaspor miss their deadline, and that would put Rangers in pole position to land the winger, handing him a reunion with his former Nacional boss.
