Polish international Damien Perquis hasn’t played a single minute since Mark Warburton took charge at the City Ground.

Nottingham Forest are not exactly renowned for their astute use of the transfer market. Yet, when Polish international Damien Perquis arrived at the City Ground last summer, it appeared that, for once, the club had got it right.
The 33-year-old had impressed in Ligue 1 with Sochaux and St Etienne while also spending three years with Real Betis in Spain, and it appeared that his solid brand of defending would improve an unstable backline.
Though it’s fair to say it hasn’t quite worked out as expected. And, less than a year after arriving from Toronto in the MLS, the Nottingham Post reports that Perquis could be the latest victim of Mark Warburton’s extensive cull.
All six of the loan signings brought in by Forest this season have been shipped off already, including the anonymous Joao Teixeira and Nicolao Dumitru. Injury stricken Matty Fryatt has joined them on the release list while much-maligned goalkeeper Vladimir Stojkovic will be shipped out by Warburton soon as possible.
Swinging the axe

And the Nottingham Post adds that Perquis could soon be on his way too – just halfway through the two-year deal he signed last summer. The 14-time international may have made 17 starts in his debut Championship campaign but has not featured since December.
Although Perquis has impressed on occasion, and his attitude has been commendable even during his omission from the squad, Forest are well stocked in the defensive areas. The news that Michael Mancienne has signed a new contract has potentially proved to be the final straw.
As a result, it appears that Perquis will go down as another underwhelming Nottingham Forest signing, destined to be forgotten within a few years.
