The Crystal Palace midfielder is a life-long Glasgow Rangers fan.

A report from the Daily Record today claims that Eagles midfielder James McArthur could be tempted into a summer switch to the Gers, when his contract expires with the south London outfit.
The Glasgow giants are slowly rebuilding, and trying to close the gap on bitter rivals Celtic, after their four year hiatus from the Scottish Premiership, and bringing someone like the 30-year-old Scotland international to Ibrox is exactly the type of signing that they need in order to do just that.
McArthur, who grew up in Glasgow and is a passionate Rangers fan, has been an incredibly consistent performer for Palace, since moving to Selhurst Park from Wigan Athletic in the summer of 2014, for a fee believed to be in the region of £7 million.

And what a sensational signing he would be for the Gers, should they indeed manage to bring him to the club upon the expiration of his contract with the Eagles.
The Daily Record claim that the chance to compete for trophies and the potential of European football appeals to McArthur, and that he would favour a move to Ibrox over a switch to another English club.

Rangers currently sit in fourth position in the Scottish Premiership table, six points adrift of Celtic, and it will obviously be vitally important for them to secure European football for next season, if they are to have any chance whatsoever of snaring the 30-year-old midfield ace.
