According to Calciomercato, Crystal Palace are willing to pay Aaron Ramsey £187,000-a-week to lure him back to the Premier League.
What’s the story?
Well, the Italian news outlet believe Patrick Vieira’s side are prepared to make Ramsey the best-paid player in their history.
Calciomercato state that the Eagles are prepared to match the Welshman’s current £187,000-a-week salary at Juventus.
That would put him at the top of Crystal Palace’s salary list by some distance – Wilfried Zaha is currently the highest earner on £130,000-a-week.
Ramsey is available, having found life under Massimiliano Allegri difficult.
So far this season, the 30-year-old has made just one start in Serie A.
Ramsey is well and truly out of favour in Turin, and it feels like it’s only a matter of time until he leaves Juventus.
Crystal Palace face major competition from Everton
Irregardless of what Crystal Palace are willing to pay Ramsey, they have to convince the ex-Arsenal man to join them before anything.
That may prove to be an issue, as TuttoJuve believe the Wales international actually wants a move to Everton.
West Ham and Newcastle are also interested in the Juventus No.8, although it’s Everton he prefers above all.
TuttoJuve add that Juventus could sell Ramsey for as little as £4m, just so they can get his salary off the wage bill.
Currently, he isn’t doing enough on the pitch to justify his earnings.
