According to The Athletic, Crystal Palace and West Ham could have a good chance of signing Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Manchester United in January.

What’s the story?

Well, it was said that Patrick Vieira and David Moyes were keen to sign the £50m man in the summer, after Erik ten Hag decided that he would not be part of his first-team plans.

However, The Athletic believe John Murtough – Director of Football at Old Trafford – convinced the Dutchman to give Wan-Bissaka a chance, due to his strong early performances after swapping south London for Manchester.

That put a halt to Crystal Palace – who value the defender at £10m – and West Ham’s chances of signing the 24-year-old, although the situation is not over yet.

The Athletic add that Manchester United will reconsider their stance on Wan-Bissaka if he fails to impose himself under Ten Hag before the January transfer window.

Diogo Dalot has made the right-back spot his own so far this season, and with the World Cup on the horizon in November, the Crystal Palace academy graduate doesn’t have much time to oust the Portugal international.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka must push for Crystal Palace or West Ham move

In our view, Wan-Bissaka needs to take it upon himself to get his career back on track.

We mustn’t forget that he was one of the outstanding defenders in Europe during his time at Selhurst Park, where he often found himself among the best on the planet for tackles and interceptions.

Therefore, if his situation doesn’t change before January, Wan-Bissaka must force his way out of Old Trafford.

In Crystal Palace and West Ham, there are two solid sides willing to take him, with both providing a platform for him to return to his best form.

Keep an eye on this situation, as an exit seems very likely if Dalot continues to hold down the right-back spot.
