Crystal Palace are hoping that they could sign Everton winger Ademola Lookman if they lose Wilfried Zaha this summer.

According to a report from The Sun, Crystal Palace plan to make a move for Everton starlet Ademola Lookman if they end up selling Wilfried Zaha to one of the Premier League heavyweights in the summer.

Zaha continues to catch the eye at Selhurst Park, and The Sun reports that the likes of Chelsea and Tottenham are both keen on a deal that could cost them over £50 million at the end of the season.

While that asking price is eye-watering, it appears that the Eagles expect someone to come in and make a substantial bid as they are already considering potential replacements.

The Sun reports that Lookman is set to be their number one target should they sell Zaha. The 20-year-old has endured a difficult time at Goodison Park and currently finds himself out on loan with Bundesliga side RB Leipzig.

The Sun adds that the former Charlton Athletic starlet will be keen to return to London if his first-team prospects with the Toffees do not improve upon his return from Germany, while Arsenal could also move for the wide-man who could command a fee of £15 million.

Why would Everton let Lookman go?

The youngster may have struggled to get a chance this season, but it seems that he boasts an enormous amount of potential and that Everton may be left to rue their decision to sell him further down the line.

He scored on his debut against Manchester City last season and rarely fails to look exciting when he has the ball and he is running at opponents, and £15 million would arguably be an absolute steal in today’s game.

Sam Allardyce may have struggled to give Lookman game-time this season, but if he wants to avoid upsetting Everton fans further, he will surely need to make it clear to the Palace target that he does not need to go elsewhere next term.
