Crystal Palace have identified Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero as a potential replacement for Real Sociedad target Vicente Guaita, as reported by Mundo Deportivo.
With 34-year-old Guaita yet to extend a contract that expires in July, Palace have little choice but to start scouring the market for possible replacements.
And it seems with the Spaniard emerging on the radar of one of La Liga’s most exciting and ambitious clubs in the shape of La Real, the Eagles will head to Old Trafford in an attempt to find a successor.
Romero, like Guaita, will be available on a free transfer in the summer.
And, after being left out of Man United’s 25-man Premier League squad, the Argentina international has already said his goodbyes to the club’s staff and players (MEN).
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer recently admitted to Goal that Romero would be free to leave when his £70,000-a-week deal expires. The Mirror adds if the 13-time Premier League champions receive an offer of £2.5 million, they could cash in now.

The former AZ Alkmaar and Monaco man has been linked with a return to South America, although he may be tempted to stick around and prove himself in England after failing to oust David de Gea under Jose Mourinho and Solskjaer.
Interestingly, Crystal Palace could face a battle with arch rivals Brighton and Hove Albion.
TYC Sports suggest Romero is a target for the Seagulls too after Matt Ryan joined Arsenal last week on loan.
