Ismal Slimani has grown frustrated with his lack of chances at Leicester City and Roy Hodgson wants to bring him to Crystal Palace in the January window.

Leicester City capped their remarkable Premier League winning campaign in 2016 by smashing their club transfer record with the £29 million signing of Sporting Lisbon striker Islam Slimani, per the BBC.

The Algerian centre-forward scored for fun in Portugal and, blessed with physicality and real strength in the air, looked a good fit for English football. That has not exactly proven to be the case, however, with Slimani starting just 14 Premier League games, and scoring seven goals, in just over a year.

The striker will have hoped for a fresh start under new Leicester manager Claude Puel but was left on the bench once again for the 2-0 win over Everton at the weekend. As such, French outlet Le Buteur reports that Slimani is seriously considering leaving the King Power Stadium in January.

And goal-shy Crystal Palace are reportedly keen to give the 29-year-old another chance to prove that he can make the grade in England’s top flight. The report claims that Roy Hodgson’s relegation battlers are hoping to bring Slimani to London in the January transfer window.

Palace’s goalscoring problems are well established, The Eagles netting just four times in their opening ten Premier League games to sit bottom of the table.

Though shoots of recovery have been clear to see in a win over Chelsea and a spirited 2-2 draw with West Ham on Saturday, secured by a last-gasp Wilfried Zaha equaliser, a natural goalscorer is a necessity with Christian Benteke and Connor Wickham on the sidelines.

And the 6ft 1ins Slimani could prove a far better fit for a Palace side renowned for their delivery from wide areas than a Leicester side adept at counter-attacking.
