Crystal Palace are rivalling Arsenal and Liverpool for the signature of Marseille youngster Maxime Lopez.

According to the Daily Star, Crystal Palace are ready to battle Arsenal and Liverpool for the signature of Marseille teenager Maxime Lopez.

Lopez, 18, was born in Marseille and has come up through the ranks with his hometown club, having joined the club at the age of just 12.

An attacking midfielder who has been progressing at the Stade Velodrome in recent years, Lopez has been tipped for a huge future – and is now making an impression in Ligue 1 this season.

Lopez has played in five first-team matches this season, nothing one assist, and started Sunday’s home game with Bordeaux, earning rave reviews for his performance.

Now, the Daily Star report that Arsenal and Liverpool are both interested in signing Lopez, but Crystal Palace think they can beat both of them to his signature.

It’s claimed that whilst Arsenal and Liverpool have been keeping tabs on Lopez, Palace are allegedly hoping to take Lopez on loan during the January transfer window in a bid to tempt him with first-team football.

Lopez stands at just 5ft 6in tall, and as a skilful, diminutive playmaker making his name with Marseille, it’s no great surprise to see that Lopez has been compared to Sevilla ace Samir Nasri.

Nasri enjoyed great success at Arsenal before leaving for Manchester City, and either Arsenal, Liverpool or Palace will be hoping that Lopez can enjoy similar success as they allegedly line up moves for the teenager.
