Crystal Palace consider a move for Barcelona’s Jasper Cillessen if they can sell Steve Mandanda to Marseille.
Crystal Palace are considering a move for Barcelona goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen this summer if, as expected, Steve Mandanda returns to Olympique Marseille – reports Spanish publication AS.
Having struggled with injury and form after joining Palace from Marseille in 2016, Le10Sport reports that the two clubs are set to meet to bring the 32-year-old back to the Orange Velodrome.

If that happens then Eagles manager Frank de Boer will move for one of his former players, with Cillessen having been number one choice between the sticks for five of the 47-year-old’s six years as Ajax boss.
The Netherlands international won three Eredivisie titles during his time at the Amsterdam Arena, before being signed by Barca last summer as a replacement for Manchester City-bound Claudio Bravo.
Unfortunately Cillessen’s time in Catalonia hasn’t been quite as successful, with the 28-year-old limited almost exclusively to cup competitions – bar a 2-1 home defeat to Alaves in La Liga – and is considered the backup choice at the Camp Nou behind Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
If the Dutchman moves to Selhurst Park and Mandanda does return to France, then he would be competing with Wayne Hennessey and veteran stopper Julian Speroni for a place in the starting XI.
