Crystal Palace are reportedly set to stand firm on Wilfried Zaha’s future.
According to The Independent, Crystal Palace will resist all bids for star winger Wilfried Zaha during the upcoming January transfer window.
The Eagles picked up a first away win of the season on Saturday afternoon, with winger Zaha playing a key role in the 3-0 win at Leicester City, scoring the second goal and being a constant menace throughout.
That was Zaha’s fourth goal in 12 Premier League outings this season after missing a chunk of the campaign through injury, as he looks to build on last season’s tally of seven goals and nine assists in the Premier League.
Previously seen as an erratic winger lacking an end product, Zaha has quickly developed into one of the Premier League’s most dangerous wide men – and that has unsurprisingly triggered major interest in his signature.
The Mirror report that Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City are all keen on Zaha, but according to The Independent, Palace will refuse all bids for their prized asset in January.
It’s added that whilst Tottenham were keen to land Zaha before he signed a new contract earlier this year, Mauricio Pochettino’s men have now moved on to other targets and appear to be out of the race for Zaha’s signature.
Having struggled to make an impression with Manchester United following a 2013 move to Old Trafford, Zaha is understood to be happy at Selhurst Park, and doesn’t appear to be on the move any time soon.
Whilst selling Zaha may give Palace a chance to strengthen other areas of their squad, letting their gamechanging winger leave the club would be a huge blow to Roy Hodgson’s hopes of survival in the Premier League, and fans will be delighted with Palace taking a tough stance on the wide man’s future.
