Crystal Palace and Watford have reportedly joined Leeds United in the race to sign Brighton’s David Stockdale.

According to The Mirror, Crystal Palace and Watford have both joined Leeds United in the race to sign Brighton and Hove Albion goalkeeper David Stockdale.
Stockdale, 31, joined Brighton from Fulham back in 2014, and has been serving as the Seagulls’ first-choice stopper ever since, racking up nearly 150 appearances in a Brighton shirt.
The ex-Darlington youngster was a key player during Brighton’s promotion-winning campaign this season, keeping 20 clean sheets in 45 Championship appearances for Chris Hughton’s side.
The problem for Brighton is that Stockdale’s contract with the club expires this summer, meaning he will be able to move on for free if he co chooses – and whilst talks over a new deal are ongoing, clubs are lining up to sign him.

The Mirror report that whilst Leeds United – Stockdale’s hometown and boyhood club – are interested in handing him a dream move to Elland Road, two Premier League teams are also pursuing him.
Crystal Palace and Watford are both believed to be considering moves to sign Stockdale, with both teams in the market for a new goalkeeper this summer.

Palace are expected to let Steve Mandanda leave the club, with Stockdale being targeted as competition for Wayne Hennessey, whilst Watford could view Stockdale as a rival to Heurelho Gomes.
Brighton will be desperate to get Stockdale tied down to a new deal, but with mounting interest in his signature, there is a real possibility that he will be playing his football away from the Amex Stadium next term.
