Crystal Palace could cash in on Patrick van Aanholt during the January transfer window with the Holland international due to become a free agent in the summer, as reported by The Sun (3 January, page 57).
Has the popular left-back played his final game at Selhurst Park?
With his contract expiring in July and Tyrick Mitchell impressing in his last two Premier League fixtures, all signs suggest Palace fans may soon bid an emotional farewell to a £14 million flyer who has been a regular source of entertainment during four years in the capital.
The Sun believes Crystal Palace will cash in if an acceptable offer arrives this month.
After all, with Mitchell going from strength to strength it makes little sense for Van Aanholt to count down the days on the Selhurst Park bench.

Selling for a sizeable sum before the February deadline would also boost Roy Hodgson’s coffers as the Palace boss looks to reinforce his squad with more exciting young talent – a la Omar Richards or Jason Knight.
Crystal Palace also have the versatile Jairo Riedewald capable of providing competition for Mitchell on the left, suggesting they are well prepared for life after Van Aanholt.
