Crystal Palace continue to be linked with a move for Tottenham’s Michel Vorm.

According to the Daily Star, Crystal Palace are closing in on a deal for Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Michel Vorm as the transfer deadline fast approaches.
Palace have endured a miserable start the new Premier League season, losing to Huddersfield Town, Liverpool and Swansea City as the pressure is already mounting on manager Frank de Boer – despite only being appointed earlier this summer.
It’s imperative that Palace not only improve going forward, but also tighten up at the back having conceded six goals in three games, with a new goalkeeper seemingly on De Boer’s wish list.

Wayne Hennessey has had his ups and downs with Palace, whilst Julian Speroni is entering the latter stages of his career, and Steve Mandanda was allowed to re-join Marseille earlier this summer.
Now, the Daily Star report that Palace are pushing to complete a deal for Tottenham’s Michel Vorm before Thursday’s transfer deadline, with De Boer keen to work with his fellow Dutchman.
Vorm, now 33, was one of the Premier League’s top goalkeepers with Swansea City, but he left the Liberty Stadium for a move to Tottenham in 2014 – and he has made just ten Premier League appearances since then.

The former Utrecht man hasn’t been able to displace Hugo Lloris as Mauricio Pochettino’s first choice goalkeeper, and with Spurs adding another goalkeeper last week in Paulo Gazzaniga, Palace now appear to be trying to tempt Tottenham into letting Vorm go.
With his contract expiring at the end of the season, Tottenham may decide to cash in on Vorm now, though it would leave Lloris and Gazzaniga as Pochettino’s only two goalkeepers, when he chose to go with three stoppers last season.
From a Palace perspective, Vorm would give De Boer a proven Premier League goalkeeper to shore up a leaky defence, with the aim of saving De Boer’s job so early into his Selhurst Park career.
