The Newcastle United centre-back is said to be wanted by the Crystal Palace manager, Roy Hodgson.

Crystal Palace are ‘preparing a move’ for the Newcastle United centre-back, Ciaran Clark, according to the Sun.
The newspaper claims Clark is wanted by the Crystal Palace manager, Roy Hodgson, who will now decide between pursuing a permanent or temporary move for the Irishman.
And it adds that the former could see Newcastle receive around £5 million for the Aston Villa academy product – although it remains to be seen whether his departure would be sanctioned by the new Magpies boss, Steve Bruce.
Clark started just 11 games for Newcastle last season, which could have him considering his future ahead of next week’s transfer deadline.

But with Crystal Palace already employing Mamadou Sakho, James Tomkins, Scott Dann, Martin Kelly and Jairo Riedewald in Clark’s position, the Eagles might not be first on the 29-year-old’s list of potential destinations.
Harrow-born Clark joined Newcastle in a £5.4m deal from Aston Villa in 2016 and has another two years left on his contract.
Newcastle fans – should Bruce allow Clark to leave amid interest from Crystal Palace?
