Crystal Palace are keen to sign Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere, 12 months after the Eagles failed to land the midfielder.

According to a report from The Sun, Crystal Palace are keen to bring Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere to Selhurst Park on a season-long loan this summer.

The Sun reports that the Eagles attempted to bring the 25-year-old in last year, but ultimately missed out as the England international joined Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth for the year.

However, Palace are now preparing to go back in for the Gunners man, with The Sun reporting that Frank De Boer’s side plan to make another loan bid.

But The Sun suggests that what is decided on Wilshere’s Arsenal future could have major implications for whether he is able to leave for Palace.

Wilshere has one year left on his contract at the Emirates, and The Sun suggests that he is likely to only be allowed to leave Arsenal on loan for this season if he agrees a new deal beforehand.

Based on how Wilshere’s career has panned out in recent years, it is arguably difficult to predict whether Arsene Wenger will give a new contract the green light or not.

The midfielder’s talent and quality is undeniable, but injuries have plagued his career and appear to have prevented him from realising his full potential to date.

So while it is most definitely worth the gamble for Palace to offer him the chance to join on a season-long loan, it is perhaps more of a risk for Arsenal to hand him the contract that will seemingly enable the move to take place.
