A report in The Sun has claimed that Crystal Palace are planning to make a January bid for Santos playmaker Lucas Lima after failing to land the 26-year-old in the summer.
The Sun claims that the Eagles attempted to land the Brazilian on deadline day, but missed out as the attacking midfielder ultimately ended up staying put.

However, The Sun suggests that Palace face plenty of competition if they hope to sign Lima with offers from the Far East set to be put on the table.
And it appears that those bids will represent a much more lucrative move for the former Internacional man, The Sun suggests, so Pardew may perhaps be hoping that the lure of playing in the Premier League is enough to make a switch happen.

If Palace do manage to land Lima, it will arguably be a massive statement of intent from the club. He has established himself in the Brazil national team over the past couple of years, and now has 12 caps to his name, as well as two goals.
And with the Eagles beginning to gradually add more marquee names to their squad as each window passes, Lima would arguably be the kind of signing that helps the team maintain their current position in the mix for the European places in the top flight.
