Crystal Palace are interested in signing Anderlecht midfielder Leander Dendoncker in the summer, according to reports.

According to a report from Belgian outlet HLN, Crystal Palace are plotting to make a summer bid to sign Anderlecht talisman Leander Dendoncker, who is keen to leave the Belgian club at the end of the campaign.

Dendoncker has been a key player for Anderlecht since breaking into the side as a teenager and has already made a century of league appearances for the club at the age of 23. He has also represented the side in the Champions League and now has a handful of Belgium caps to his name.

Perhaps unsurprisingly therefore, Dendoncker appears to believe that he has achieved all he can with Anderlecht as HLN reports that he is planning to leave the club in the summer – and the report suggests that Crystal Palace may attempt to offer him a fresh challenge during the upcoming window.

HLN adds that Dendoncker could cost at least £13.1 million, but if Palace manage to preserve their top flight status this season, that would surely be the kind of fee that they would have little problem paying if they are convinced that the holding midfielder could improve their squad.

Roy Hodgson’s men have endured a turbulent season having been written off by many after their dreadful start to the campaign, but there is definitely light at the end of the tunnel with six points separating them from the bottom three with three games left.

And if they do manage to avoid getting dragged back into the bottom three and manage to get a deal done for Dendoncker, it would arguably be a fantastic statement from the Eagles heading into next season.
