According to the Daily Mail, Crystal Palace are one of a number of clubs keeping a keen eye on Jack Wilshere’s situation at Arsenal.

The Mail reports that Arsene Wenger is considering letting the midfielder move on ahead of the final year of his contract at the Emirates as he is concerned about relying on Wilshere due to his injury record.

If the path is left clear, Wilshere ideally wants to make the move to AC Milan, who the Mail say have made him one of their top targets for the summer.

With the 25-year-old failing to get the San Siro switch he craved last year, it may perhaps be unwise to assume that they could be the only club he could join however.

According to the Mail, Crystal Palace and Watford are interested, while Roma and Benfica are also monitoring his situation at the Emirates.

Although some may still see signing Wilshere as a gamble – especially as the Mail reports that he currently earns £90,000 a week – he has shown during his loan spell at Bournemouth this season that he is able to enjoy prolonged runs in the team provided that his situation is managed correctly.

And Wilshere has shown on plenty of occasions in the past that he has the talent and flair to become a very special player if he can stay fit, so if Sam Allardyce takes heart from what he has seen at the Vitality Stadium this term, he should surely do everything he can to try and get a deal done.
