Christian Benteke has little interest in moving back to Belgium and Club Brugge as he is fully focused on getting his Crystal Palace career back on track, as reported by Voetbal24.

In truth, the signs have been there for a while. All he needed was a break.

And, on Sunday, he got one.

After being denied by a stunning Nick Pope save against Burnley and coming oh-so close against Newcastle a few days later, Benteke finally got off the mark as Palace hit five goals in a Premier League away game for the first time.

It wasn’t the proverbial ‘one off the backside’ either.

Instead, Benteke glanced a brilliant diving header into the far corner to put Roy Hodgson’s side 3-1 up at West Brom at the Hawthorns. Then, 20 minutes later, the former Aston Villa star netted his second and Palace’s fifth, a clinical spin and strike reminiscent of his heady days in front of the Holte End.

Benteke has been consistently linked with a move away from Selhurst Park during three barren years in front of goal.

But, with the 30-year-old flickering into life once again, who can blame him for wanting to stay and make up for lost time?

2019/20 Jupiler League champions Club Brugge are big fans of a one-time Genk and Standard Liege striker.

But, according to Voetbal24, Benteke has no interest in turning his back on Crystal Palace even if his long-term future remains uncertain with his contract expiring in the summer.

In theory, Benteke should thrive in a more inventive, attacking Crystal Palace team – especially if Wilfried Zaha and Ebere Eze link up like they did to devastating effect in West Bromwich.
