Crystal Palace have made an offer for Fleetwood Town goalkeeper Alex Cairns.

According to the Daily Mail’s live transfer feed (31st August 2017; 19:33 pm), Crystal Palace have made a late bid to try and sign Fleetwood Town goalkeeper Alex Cairns.
It has been a busy deadline day for the Eagles, with the Mail reporting (18:45 pm) that they have agreed a £26 million fee with Liverpool for centre-back Mamadou Sakho.

But it appears that it is not just the defence that Frank De Boer is looking to strengthen during the final hours of the window, with the Mail reporting that they have now made a seven-figure bid for Fleetwood stopper Cairns.
It is perhaps unsurprising that Palace are looking to strengthen their goalkeeper options, with six goals conceded in their opening three games of the new Premier League season and with just two stoppers to pick from in the senior squad, including veteran Julian Speroni.

Though Cairns has made just one league appearance in the Championship previously, he has won plenty of admirers during his time at Highbury Stadium and has helped Uwe Rosler’s men to three wins out of four at the start of the new League One campaign.
And he put himself on the map with a stunning triple save in the recent win over Northampton – so it would certainly be no surprise if Fleetwood were determined to keep Cairns away from Palace during this window.
