Crystal Palace are reportedly considering a potential move for free agent Yaya Toure.

Yaya Toure of Manchester City waves to the fans after his final appearance for the club during the Premier League match between Manchester City and Brighton and Hove Albion at Etihad...

According to a report from the Sunday People (16/12; page 55), Crystal Palace have reached out to Yaya Toure and asked to be kept informed of developments on his future as they consider a potential move for the midfielder.

Toure is now a free agent after his return to Olympiakos proved to be short-lived. He barely featured for the Greek side before his departure was announced earlier this month.

West Ham reportedly considered a move for the 35-year-old in the summer, but it appears that Palace may be the most likely side to offer the Ivory Coast international a return to the Premier League.

The Sunday People (16/12; page 55) reports that the Eagles are looking to be kept in the loop if there are any updates on Toure’s future as they could offer to bring him to Selhurst Park.

Toure is clearly coming towards the back-end of his career and has hardly put himself in the shop window with his latest spell in Greece. However, he has to be considered one of the finest midfielders in recent Premier League history.

He won three league titles while with Manchester City and made over 300 appearances for the club. He also scored 79 goals in all competitions, so perhaps Roy Hodgson believes that he could bring some additional creativity to a Palace side that have only managed to score 14 goals in the first 17 games of the season.
