Crystal Palace have reportedly followed up their enquiry with a bid for the Leeds United starlet.

According to a report from the Daily Mirror (19/1; page 70), Crystal Palace have made an offer of £3 million plus add-ons for Leeds winger Jack Clarke.

Clarke is proving to be one of the most exciting talents in the Championship this term. It is incredible to think that he has made just one start in the league for Marcelo Bielsa’s men, as he has already made a huge impact for the table-toppers.

He has scored twice and provided two assists in the league. And unsurprisingly, the Leeds ace is attracting a lot of Premier League attention.

The Daily Mirror (19/1; page 70) reports that Palace, Bournemouth and Tottenham are all keen on Clarke, while Manchester City have previously shown interest. However, it is Palace who are looking to steal a march on their rivals.

The Mirror reports that the Eagles have now offered £3 million plus add-ons, but the Whites are determined to keep their brightest prospect this month.

It would be no surprise if Leeds did not hesitate to reject the offer. Clarke is already establishing himself as one of the most dangerous players in Bielsa’s squad, and the fans would be livid if the club accepted such a low bid, especially as they have such a fantastic chance of securing promotion this term.

And if they do go up, Clarke is unquestionably one of the players that has the ability to immediately make a serious impact at the highest level.

With names such as Tottenham and Manchester City lurking, there is, of course, no guarantee that Leeds will be able to hold onto Clarke in the years to come. But it is surely fair to assume that Andrea Radrizzani will not need to spend too long considering his response to Palace’s reported offer.
