Liverpool have rejected a £25m bid from Crystal Palace for Mamadou Sakho.
Liverpool hold firm on their £30 million valuation of their out-of-favour centre-back Mamadou Sakho, and have rejected another bid from Crystal Palace.
According to reports from ESPN, Crystal Palace have made a £25 million offer (£22 million upfront and £3 million in add ons), but the Reds have dismissed their approach as it didn’t meet their valuation.
The French defender has a contract at Liverpool till 2020, and given the level of interest in him from other Premier League clubs – Leicester City and West Brom are reportedly being linked – the Reds are in a strong position in negotiating the sale of the player.
The 27-year-old has not featured since the end of 2015/16, and is not in Jurgen Klopp’s first team plans.
Sakho spent the second half of 2016/17 on loan at Selhurst Park, and he personally favours a move to the London club.
The report claims that it was Palace’s third bid of the summer for Sakho that underlines their ambition to sign the Liverpool defender.
Palace have made a poor start to the 2017/18 Premier League campaign, having lost all of their opening three games.
