Crystal Palace are reportedly interested in former Chelsea and Aston Villa defender Gary Cahill.

Aston Villa reportedly wanted to sign Gary Cahill, but the former Chelsea defender could be heading to Crystal Palace instead.
The Telegraph claimed last month that Villa had held talks with Cahill following the defender’s release from Chelsea at the end of last season.
The 33-year-old central defender is a free agent at the moment and actually started his professional club football career at Villa.
However, Villa failed to land the Englishman due to his wage demands and signed Ezri Konsa from Brentford instead, as reported by The Telegraph.

Palace, though, do not seem to have any such issues, with The Sun claiming that the Eagles are winning the race to secure the services of Cahill in the summer transfer window.
It has been reported that Cahill hopes to earn £75,000 per week as salary at Selhurst Park.
It does appear quite a lot of money for the 33-year-old, but Cahill is a serial winner and has extensive experience which will help Palace.
